Dr Marianne Thomson of Ambiance Stud was the breeder of last season’s highest earning horse, the Nathan Kotzen-trained dual Gr 1 winner Royal Victory, and has been a trailblazer in South African breeding. Though she shuns the spotlight and might not embrace the title, she is undeniably one of the elder stateswomen of the industry, and her long and vibrant career serves as an inspiring example for others to follow.
