PREVIEW BLITZ : Hollywoodbets DURBAN JULY Grade 1šŸ„‡
šŸŽ¤Trainer / Jockey Comments only (runners in current betting order)
šŸ‡5. Green With Envy : ā€œHe’ll have to be very good to win with 56 kilos on his back and I hope that the handicapper does prove me wrong and he’s rightā€œ, Dean Kannemeyer.
šŸ‡10. See It Again : ā€œHe’s done well since the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge. We would have liked a lower weight, but he’s the highest rated horse in the country. I am happy with the drawā€œ, Michael Roberts.
šŸ‡4.Future Swing : ā€œRichard Fourie gives confidence that he’s picked this horse to ride. The Snaith Team have got him into the race with a low weight. Draw 4 is an ideal drawā€œ, Gokhan Terzi.
šŸ‡11. Oriental Charm : ā€œHe’s a horse with natural speed and does like to dictate on his terms. Draw 11 is perfect for this horse … with 53 kilos on his back, he must be respectedā€œ, James Crawford.
šŸ‡1. Royal Victory : ā€œI’ve only run him 3 times over ground and all 3 times, he’s won. His draw is a difficult one as you have to hold position for the first 200m, otherwise you find yourself a bit far back. Muzi was very happy with his gallopā€, Nathan Kotzen.
šŸ‡17. Flag Man : ā€œThe handicapper has penalized him heavily … it was due, to what extent, can be debated. I’m not too worried about the draw … it’s nice not to have pressure on your outside. Serino (Moodley) is oozing confidence the more he rides this horse. I’m expecting a big run from himā€, Gareth van Zyl.
šŸ‡9. Winchester Mansion : ā€œTo get 3 ½ kilos again from See It Again this year, I make him a massive runner. I think it will be tough for some of the 3-year-olds to carry essentially level weights with him, to try beat him as a 5-year-old now. I think draw 9 will work out nicely for us. He’s had a flawless prepā€, James Crawford.
šŸ‡18. Future Pearl : ā€œHe’s not out of it. The draw shouldn’t worry him at all. He’s got a formidable finish for a horse of his size. He’s come to form at exactly the right timeā€, Sean Tarry.
šŸ‡8. Purple Pitcher : ā€œAlthough his run in the Jubilee Stakes was a little disappointing, it was a very much needed run. He’s come through the run well and working extremely well. With his draw of 8 and low galloping weight of 53 kilos, I think he’s a huge runnerā€, Robyn Klaasen.
šŸ‡3. Without Question : ā€œHe’s had 2 fair prep runs, when 3 and 4 lengths off. Last time was a bit too far for him over 2400m carrying 59 kilos. He’s got a great draw of 3. I’m sure he’ll be competitiveā€, Gokhan Terzi.
šŸ‡15. Cousin Casey : ā€œHis preparation has been exceptional. He’s getting 4 kilos from See It Again. The draw is not ideal … a little deep for him. It’s a competitive race, but it’s not mission impossibleā€, Sean Tarry.
šŸ‡16. Double Superlative : ā€œTwo runs back, he won the WSB Cape Town Met. He had a break and we’ve brought him back. He’s improved a lot from his prep run. It might be a little too soon for him, but we’re in with a chanceā€, Gokhan Terzi.
šŸ‡2. Barbaresco : ā€œHe’s coming to hand. He ran a brilliant 3rd to Green With Envy in the Daily News 2000. Green With Envy now gives me 2 ½ kilos. It’s not everyday that I get down to 53 ½ kilos, but when I do, I make it countā€, Gavin Lerena.
šŸ‡12. Son Of Raj : ā€œHe had his first run for the yard in the Jubilee Stakes, when finishing 3rd and running on strongly. He strips a lot fitter now. He’s peaking at the right time. I’m not too ā€˜fazed’ about the draw. I think he’ll be running on into the moneyā€, Tony Peter.
šŸ‡6. Shoemaker : ā€œHe’s come really well in Durban. He’s under sufferance at the weights, but he’s better than his rating. He’s well drawn and could give one of his peak performances, if everything goes wellā€, Mike de Kock.
šŸ‡7. Aragosta : ā€œYou have to always respect older horses at the bottom end of the weights. The 3-year-olds with the weights that they’ve got, have to be even better than their current form suggests. Whether he’s quick enough for the July, I don’t know, but he’s a hard knocking campaignerā€, Mike de Kock.
šŸ‡14. Master Redoute : ā€œHis form has been very solid. I’m very happy that he gets the distance. We’re drawn a bit on the outside, but we have a fair idea as to how the race will pan out, so we know where we want to be in the race. He is moving beautifully and was happy to be here (at the Gallops)ā€, Andre Nel.
šŸ‡13. Meridius : ā€œHe’s come out of his Jubilee Stakes win full of confidence. He’s got ā€˜an okay’ draw, but he doesn’t mind travelling a little bit deep. His work has been good and we’re expecting positive run from himā€, Tony Peter.
