11. Oriental Charm : “He’s a horse with natural speed and does like to dictate on his terms. Draw 11 is perfect for this horse … with 53 kilos on his back, he must be respected“, James Crawford.

1. Royal Victory : “I’ve only run him 3 times over ground and all 3 times, he’s won. His draw is a difficult one as you have to hold position for the first 200m, otherwise you find yourself a bit far back. Muzi was very happy with his gallop”, Nathan Kotzen.

17. Flag Man : “The handicapper has penalized him heavily … it was due, to what extent, can be debated. I’m not too worried about the draw … it’s nice not to have pressure on your outside. Serino (Moodley) is oozing confidence the more he rides this horse. I’m expecting a big run from him”, Gareth van Zyl.

9. Winchester Mansion : “To get 3 ½ kilos again from See It Again this year, I make him a massive runner. I think it will be tough for some of the 3-year-olds to carry essentially level weights with him, to try beat him as a 5-year-old now. I think draw 9 will work out nicely for us. He’s had a flawless prep”, James Crawford.

18. Future Pearl : “He’s not out of it. The draw shouldn’t worry him at all. He’s got a formidable finish for a horse of his size. He’s come to form at exactly the right time”, Sean Tarry.

8. Purple Pitcher : “Although his run in the Jubilee Stakes was a little disappointing, it was a very much needed run. He’s come through the run well and working extremely well. With his draw of 8 and low galloping weight of 53 kilos, I think he’s a huge runner”, Robyn Klaasen.

3. Without Question : “He’s had 2 fair prep runs, when 3 and 4 lengths off. Last time was a bit too far for him over 2400m carrying 59 kilos. He’s got a great draw of 3. I’m sure he’ll be competitive”, Gokhan Terzi.

15. Cousin Casey : “His preparation has been exceptional. He’s getting 4 kilos from See It Again. The draw is not ideal … a little deep for him. It’s a competitive race, but it’s not mission impossible”, Sean Tarry.

16. Double Superlative : “Two runs back, he won the WSB Cape Town Met. He had a break and we’ve brought him back. He’s improved a lot from his prep run. It might be a little too soon for him, but we’re in with a chance”, Gokhan Terzi.

2. Barbaresco : “He’s coming to hand. He ran a brilliant 3rd to Green With Envy in the Daily News 2000. Green With Envy now gives me 2 ½ kilos. It’s not everyday that I get down to 53 ½ kilos, but when I do, I make it count”, Gavin Lerena.

12. Son Of Raj : “He had his first run for the yard in the Jubilee Stakes, when finishing 3rd and running on strongly. He strips a lot fitter now. He’s peaking at the right time. I’m not too ‘fazed’ about the draw. I think he’ll be running on into the money”, Tony Peter.

6. Shoemaker : “He’s come really well in Durban. He’s under sufferance at the weights, but he’s better than his rating. He’s well drawn and could give one of his peak performances, if everything goes well”, Mike de Kock.

7. Aragosta : “You have to always respect older horses at the bottom end of the weights. The 3-year-olds with the weights that they’ve got, have to be even better than their current form suggests. Whether he’s quick enough for the July, I don’t know, but he’s a hard knocking campaigner”, Mike de Kock.

14. Master Redoute : “His form has been very solid. I’m very happy that he gets the distance. We’re drawn a bit on the outside, but we have a fair idea as to how the race will pan out, so we know where we want to be in the race. He is moving beautifully and was happy to be here (at the Gallops)”, Andre Nel.

13. Meridius : “He’s come out of his Jubilee Stakes win full of confidence. He’s got ‘an okay’ draw, but he doesn’t mind travelling a little bit deep. His work has been good and we’re expecting positive run from him”, Tony Peter.
