Vaughan Marshall trained the great racehorse and sire Captain Al, he trained the latter’s son, the Met-winning One World, and he went to R1,4 million yesterday (Sunday) to buy a son of One World at the Cape Racing Sales Ready To Run and Unbroken 2YO Sale at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.
The colt, consigned by Soetendal Estate as agent and named One Stripe, is out of the Silvano mare Silver Stripe, who won three races including the Listed Spook Express Handicap over 2450m. Silver Stripe is a fulll-sister to Gr 3 Winter Derby winner Gifted For Glory and a three-quarters sister to the Silvano pair Clematis and Flying Silver, who are Listed-placed horses. Silver Stripe is a daughter of the Gr 1 Paddock Stakes winner Badger’s Gift (Badger’s Drift). One Stripe displayed a big action and some zip in his breeze up.
