The East Cape meeting yesterday was switched to the poly and the exciting local horse, the Gavin Smith-trained Ideal World gelding Perfection, annihilated two decent Cape Town raiders, Port Louis and King Regent, to easily win the Listed East Cape Guineas.
JP van der Merwe took the rangy Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein-bred gelding to the front from a wide draw and in the straight he simply streched away from the running-on Cape Town pair.
