A Mauritzfontein Stud-bred Vercingetorix colt out of Listed-winning Fort Wood mare Withbatedbreath (Lot 156) fetched the highest price on day two of the BSA August Sale, sold to Gary Player for R1,1 million (see picture by Candiese Lenferna).
There was one other R1 million purchase, a Drakenstein Stud-bred Silvano colt out of Grade 2 and dual Grade 3 winner Jet Belle (Jet Master) (Lot 271), knocked down to Greg Bortz for R1 million.
On day one there was only one lot that fetched over a R1 million and that was the Sale- topping Wilgerbosdrift Stud-bred Gimmethegreenlight colt that went for R3.8 million.
