Zietsman Oosthuizen sent out a treble at the Fairview poly meeting yesterday to take his tally for the season to 42 winners at a strike rate of 9.35%.  

He won a Maiden over 1200m with Knave Of Diamonds (Greys Inn), a MR 78 Handicap over 1900m with Assured Silvano and a MR 66 Handicap over 1000m with Ticket To Ride. 

Ryan Munger rode Knave Of Diamonds and Ticket To Ride and “Louis” Mxothwa, who also had a meeting double, rode Assured.

Munger and Mxothwa are in tenth and eleventh on the National Jockeys log on 64 and 62 wins respectively.

Meanwhile, Gavin Smith scored in the eighth race in reply to Allan Greeff’s earlier winner and his 93 winners for the season keep him five winners and just over R600,000 in stakes in front  in the intriguing race for the East Cape trainers’ title.
