The Sean Tarry-trained Rain In Holland (Duke Of Marmalade) won the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks at Turffontein Standside today to land the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara and she won it as comfortably as she had done in the first two legs.

Richard Fourie had the superstar Drakenstein Stud home-bred Duke Of Marmalade filly in midfield behind a good pace set by Oaks Trial winner Light Of The Moon (Futura).

Evening Primrose (Flower Alley) had sat behind the pacemaker and moved up well in the straight.

However, when Fourie let Rain In Holland go it was quickly race over.

He eased her well before the line.

Light Of The Moon, who is also a Drakenstein homebred, stayed on courageously for a 0,75 length second and although the winning margin flattered her she was officially merit rated  42 points lower off her 76 rating than the winner.

Evening Primrose stayed on well for a 7,25 length third.

The 72-rated Ontheverge (Where’s That Tiger) was fourth and the 76-rated Greengrowthelilacs (Gimmethegreenlight) was fifth.

Rain Holland is the fifth Triple Tiara winner in history and the third in the last three years.

Tarry went within one stride of landing the Triple Tiara with Siren’s Call in 2015 and was delighted to have his family on course today.

Tarry landed a treble on the day including sending out the one-two in the Grade 3 WSB R10 000 1st Deposit Match Caradoc Gold Cup over 2850m with Nebraas (Vercingetorix), also ridden by the peerless Richard Fourie, and Black Thorn (Pomodoro).
