JUSTIN Vermaak of Green Street Bloodstock, SA racing’s man-on-the-move, will be representing South Africa at the Hong Kong International Racing Carnival.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will be flying Vermaak to the Carnival in the week leading to Sunday, 11 December, as a South African representative to cover the event using various social media and hash tags.
Patrick Cummings, Executive Manager, Public Affairs (Racing) at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, said: “Last year, we started to bring a few social media influencers from the different regions, many of whom are commingling with Hong Kong, of which South Africa became one early this year, to help drive awareness of the #HKIR to their loyal and more local follower base.
“Justin will be coming to join us for the week as well as Gareth Pepper, representing both Singapore and South Africa. The #HKIR, on 11 December at Sha Tin Racecourse, is one of the world’s great racing weeks and we invite all to follow Justin and Gareth, and also the Club’s account @HKJC_Racing with all the news and updates on a phenomenal racing experience, the year-end World Turf Championships.”
Vermaak commented: “I’d like to thank Pat Cummings and the HKJC for inviting me to this event, it will be my first time and I look forward to covering it for them and exposing more details about the build-up to the race day to my followers on social media.”
