Race 1:

Preview: JOANNA ESS (6) has been thereabouts in her last three starts in distances from 1700m to 2000m and being by Ideal World can still improve so looks the one to beat.  DIFFERENTIATE (2) has produced strong finishes since being held up in sprint races so is interesting trying this trip despite having failed in two previous attempts over 1400m. TRATTORIA (1) found no extra in an uninspiring event over 1450m in her penultimate start although on pedigree she should enjoy this step up in trip being by Pomodoro out of London News mare Carolita who won over 1600m although on the other hand Carolita’s two winners to date have only won up to 1200m. (David Thiselton 6-2-1)

Race 2:

Preview: WINTER SMOKE (1) has speed and the ability to stay on over this trip so is the one to beat. RIO’S WINTER (2) is classy and proved that last time when producing a powerful finish to beat a decent field over this trip. PORTICO (4) continually improved last season and as officially the third best weighted runner is interesting returning from a layoff. (David Thiselton 1-2-4)

Race 3:

Preview: INVINCIBLE WARRIOR (9) is by the boom sire Vercingetorix and is a full-brother to the Listed Secretariat Stakes (1400m) runner up Vaseem.  FUTURE LADY (16) went close on debut despite a brief rein drop and shoud make a bold biddespite being the only female in the line up. BLUE SPARK (1) might well enjoy the step down in trip and should be running on. (David Thiselton 9-16-1)

Race 4:

Preview: PROCRASTINATOR (1) has had tough tasks in his last two starts but of reproducing his maiden win over this distance he is the one to beat. FOREVER MINE (3) has improved and will go close over this suitable trip is starting better than last time when for the first time losing ground at the jump. INFORMATIVE (5) returns to action after a 134 day layoff and is off a dangerous merit rating. (David Thiselton 1-3-5)

Race 5:

Preview: MULETA (2) looks to be a useful sprinter and will make a bold bid for three on the trot despite a seven point raise for her last win as that has only taken her to an 85 rating. VARINA (5) was beaten two lengths by Impressive Duchess recently over 1200m and she is now 3.5kg better off plus she has a 4kg claimer up and will appreciate the step down in trip. IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS (4) has been in fine form with a win sandwiched between two close up finishes to talented sorts. TRUE CHARM (1) will finish close to Impressive Duchess if reproducing her last start. MIND READER (7) has two wins from her last three starts and off just a three point higher mark for that last win can’t be ignored.
(David Thiselton 2-5-4-1-7)

Race 6:

Preview: BEBOP (7) won her maiden well and is well drawn off a reasonable merit rating. PRETTY BORDER (4) has dropped to a dangerous mark but does have a tough draw. SPARKLING WATER (9) is well bred and won her maiden well and looks to have plenty of scope but she beat an uninspiring field and over-raced a little bit early on so there are some concerns for this 1800m race in which she has to overcome a wide draw.
(David Thiselton 7-4-9)

Race 7:

Preview: IVALO’S PRINCE (9) has always looked to have ability so sneaking into the hnadicap here off an 80 merit rating, which he looks better than, gives him a shout. WHORLY WHORLY’s (3) good second in the Grand Heritage has been franked and he can return to winning ways. AGAINST THE GRAIN (6) is 3,5kg better off with Whorly Whorly for a 2,75 length beating so there won’t be much in it on paper. GOLDEN PHEASANT (1) is a strapping sort who is capable of winning in good style over this idal trip, as he did last time, but he did cop a seven point raise meaning he is worse off with Whorly Whorly from the Grand Heritage despite being beaten by him. VALETORIO (8) has dropped to a competitive mark and should enjoy this trip.  (David Thiselton 9-3-6-1-8)

Race 8:

Preview: LOUVAIN (4) ran well over this trip last time and will go close if jumping better. BIRDWATCHER (2) is a small but reliable filly who can be in te shake up again. FRESH FROM THE US (7) is a big horse with a big action and should enjoy going down the straight over this suitable trip. (David Thiselton 4-2-7)
