BOB Yearham, Group Gaming & VIP Operations Executive for Peermont Emperors Palace, who has been involved with the Ready To Run Sale concept since 2007, prepared a special surprise for guests attending the CTS Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cocktail Party at Emperors on Wednesday evening.
Yearham set up an array of lights in the Christmas Garden at D’Oreale Grande, prepared especially for the function, and asked CTS Chairman Chris van Niekerk to engage the switch that lit up the extravagant function.
Van Niekerk and Yearham hosted the party to celebrate the start of Thursday’s Ready To Run Sale at Randjesfontein. Guests included trainers from Gauteng, the Cape and KZN. Sean Tarry was there, Brett Crawford too, Doug Campbell arrived with some of his buyers and Mike Robinson and Mark Dixon were also seen enjoying the festivities.
Van Niekerk complimented the various vendors on the quality of the lots and offered to assist potential buyers with buyers’ cards to secure the stock they want. With today’s Vaal meeting having been called off, trainers and owners have all day to walk through stables with their catalogues to find the “right ones”!
Van Niekerk commented: “There is so much on offer to buyers at the Ready To Run. Horses bought at this sale qualify for three races and R6-million in stakes – including the R1-million Kuda Sprint on Sun Met Day in 2017, just two months away.”
The sale starts at 6pm on Thursday evening at the North Rand Training Centre, Randjesfontein.
