THE unstoppable Jeff Lloyd on Wednesday set another Australian record.

The 56-year-old former South African smashed Chris Munce’s Queensland State record of 155 wins in a single season when he won the ninth race at Ipswich Racecourse on trainer Toby Edmunds’ Prontezza in a 1200m handicap.

Lloyd has already smashed the record for the most winners in a Brisbane metropolitan season with 118, beating Chris Munce’s previous mark of 103 set in 2011/12.

Lloyd, who also has two wins outside Queensland, is locked in a tussle with Perth’s William Pike to be Australia’s leading jockey with the latter leading 160 to 158.

“As I keep saying if you ride winners the records can look after themselves,” Lloyd said.
