SUMMERHILL Sales will be offering a large, and star studded draft, of more than 30 high quality yearlings at Thursday and Friday’s KZN Yearling Sale at Sibaya.

The Summerhill draft is jam-packed with siblings to stakes winners and with yearlings by such successful and well established sires as Ato, Await The Dawn, Brave Tin Soldier, Philanthropist and Visionaire –to name just a few!

Exciting young sire and G1 winner Visionaire is sire of lot 2 –a colt whose Captain Al sired dam is a half-sister to Miami Blues –a stakes winner of five. Visionaire is also responsible for lot 3, a half-brother to 4 winners, including durable eight time winner and G2 performer Greasepaint.

Irish Derby runner up Golden Sword is well represented in this draft and he is the sire of lot 19, a half-sister to 3 winners, whose winning Al Mufti dam is a half-sister to G1 Champions Cup runner up Black Wing.
Another by Visionaire in the draft is lot 20, a colt from the same family as Horse Of The Year-Arm and Triple Crown winner Abashiri, while lot 32 is a Golden Sword filly out of a ½ sister to 3 stakes horses including G3 Kings Cup winner Pessoa.

Lot 35 is a Visionaire half-brother to 2 winners, whose dam is a winning daughter of leading sire Kahal and G2 winning filly Bridal Paths, while the same sire is responsible for lot 60, a half-sister to a five time winner, whose three time winning dam is a half-sister to G3 performer Mr Mulliner.

Storm Cat sire Brave Tin Soldier is a proven G1 sire whose runners this season include G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Brave Mary, and he is the sire of lot 61, a filly, by the name of Daring Donna, whose siblings have won eight races between them, and whose dam is a sister in blood to champion Yard-Arm and is a half-sister to multiple G1 winner and Triple Crown winner Abashiri.

Visionaire is responsible for lots 62 and 68 respectively, with the former being a filly whose dam is a ½ sister to 2 stakes winners, while lot 68 is a colt out of a ½ sister to the dam of this season’s very smart 3yo Loadshedder.

Golden Sword, sire of this season’s smart filly Belle Rose, is the sire of lot 72 –a filly (intensely inbred to the great Sadler’s Wells) whose half-sister is G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Royal Pleasure. Lot 79 is a colt by Brave Tin Soldier, whose dam is a half-sister to champion Special Key and G3 SA Fillies Nursery winner Secret To Success.

Visionaire, sire of Royal Pleasure among others, is the sire of lot 98-  a colt out of Var’s G3 placed, six time wining daughter Solarium, while G1 Krisflyer Sprint winner Ato’s first crop includes lot 100 –a chestnut colt out of a daughter of stakes winning racemare Choice.

Brave Tin Soldier, whose notable runners include dual G1 winner Rabada is responsible for lots 113 and 116 respectively, with the former being a filly out of a full-sister to G3 winner Side By Side, and the latter a half-sister to 6 winners including G2 Gold Bowl winner Winning Leap.

Visionaire is the sire of the next three lots from the Summerhill draft. Lot 124 is a chestnut colt, named And Beyond, whose dam is a sister to G3 winning sprinter Blue Voyager, while lot 124 is a colt out of speedy five time winner Wave Blaster. Reconnaissance is the name of lot 152, a colt out of a half-sister to a 12 time stakes winner overseas.

Exciting new sire Ato is responsible for lot 166, a filly out of a stakes placed four time winner, while short lived G2 Hardwicke Stakes winner Await The Dawn (whose first crop have been in scintillating form) is the sire of lot 172 –a bay colt out of a sister to G2 (now G1) SA Fillies Classic winner Caughtintheslips.

Visionaire has a lovely colt out of G2 (also now G1) Thekwini Stakes winner Bridal Paths, herself already dam of five winners, while lot 187 is another colt by Visionaire, this time out of a six time winning Kahal half-sister to stakes winner and Oaks runner up Salutation.

Stakes winner Choice has a Visionaire colt on sale in the form of lot 192, and this chestnut is a half-brother to no fewer than eight winners, while Early Dawn is the name of lot 206, a bay daughter of Await The Dawn and half-sister to 11 winners, notably G3 performer Mr Mulliner.

Visionaire is also responsible for lots 207 and 209 respectively, with the former being a half sister to 2 winners and out of a full-sister to G1 winner Pick Six, while lot 209 is a half-brother to 3 winners including Oaks winner Witchcraft.

Proven sire of champions Philanthropist is the sire of lot 214, a filly (inbred to the wonderful sire Roberto) out of a winning half-sister to a stakes placed winner of four, while lot 218 is a Visionaire half-brother to 2 winners out of a winning half-sister to 3 stakes winners, including graded winners Bound By Honour and Your Eminence.

High Chaparral son Golden Sword is sire of lot 234, a chestnut half-sister to 6 winners, including six time stakes winner Cast A Spell, herself the dam of high class performers Little Genie, Ollivander and Neala, while lot 252 is a Visionaire colt out of a winning daughter of G1 November Handicap winner Mill Hill.

Golden Sword is also responsible for lot 253, a half-sister to 3 winners including G3 filly Lala, while Ato’s unnamed daughter (Lot 268) is out of a winning half-sister to stakes filly Beyond Reproach from a prolific black type family.
