WASHED out a fortnight ago and postponed again after the first race at Scottsville on Sunday, the KwaZulu-Natal Stakes (Listed) meeting appears jinxed.

The balance of Sunday’s eight-race card was rescheduled for Scottsville Wednesday, April 18, however after a track inspection this afternoon, Tuesday, April 17, a decision was taken to move the meeting to the Greyville Polytrack. The Greyville meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to Friday night.

Gold Circle Racing Executive, Raf Sheik, said the Scottsville track had not dried out sufficiently. “The panel decided that rather than doing irreparable damage to the turf on the eve of Champions Season, it was agreed by the majority of the inspection panel that the meeting be moved to the poly track.”

The inspection panel consisted of Raf Sheik, trainers Duncan Howells, Paul Gadsby, Louis Goosen, Tony Rivalland, jockeys Warren Kennedy, Jarred Samuel, Athandiwe Mgudlwa, Chief Stipendiary Steward, Shaun Parker and Scottsville track manager Michael Ndlovu.

Notes: A Barrier Trial has been added to the Programme and will be run at  12:15. Fields are available on-line.

Race 2 will be off at 12:50. Exotic bets remain as carded. All tote bets struck on the Scottsville meeting will be refunded because of the change of venue.
