THE Gauteng SANSUI Summer Cup is shaping up to once again be the most eagerly anticipated event on the calendar with Turffontein Racecourse coming to life on 26 November.

This year’s renewal of the 2000m Grade One contest is being hailed as “The People’s Race” and tickets have already gone on sale for one of the biggest events of the Highveld racing season.

Last year’s race was won by Master Sabina, with jockey Gavin Lerena in the irons, and the Geoff Woodruff inmate has once again been entered in a bid to defend the mantle as champion.

For R350 per person The Summer Bollywood Racing Experience promises to add a dash of colour to the Summer Cup proceedings. The chance to enjoy Indian entertainment with dancers, Mehndi artists and a host of local celebrities will be in attendance.

There’s the Summer Festival to consider for those looking to make a family day of it with the R250 purchase price including access for two adults and two children, who will receive a lucky packet and access to the kids play area, as well as a seven piece family meal and two R25 TAB betting vouchers.
