THE first legs of the respective colts and fillies Winter Series will be staged at Kenilworth today, The Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes is carded as the sixth and the Gr3 Winter Guineas will go off after that at 15:45.

Paul Reeves-trained Helen’s Ideal looks a blinder at the weights in the Sweet Chestnut – on the turnabout with several other fancied runners behind her recently, while the established star One World is a firm favourite to win the Guineas.

One World is top quality sort, and his opening 5-10 reflects this, though betters will be considering adding Adam Marcus’ promising Vardy to the exotics. He’s a three-year-old going from strength to strength and with One World coming off a short rest will be there to pounce if the favourite proves naturally short of the outing.

But that is an unlikely outcome. Of all Vaughan Marshall’s recent Captain Al stars, One World has looked the most talented, and while he is not yet as accomplished as William Longsword or Tap O’Noth, his career has only started. As a miler, he is destined for the top and we believe he will prove it today.
