HERE’s an interesting special release: Monopoly with a horseracing theme, distributed to selected shelves in the UK on Wednesday, 7 July.
A limited edition package of ‘Newmarket Monopoly’ has been created. This unique version of the famous original is a special one for the racing village of Newmarket as it marks 350 years of making history; an anniversary celebrating the evolution of the international Home of Horseracing.
In 1666 Charles II returned to Newmarket for the first time since he was a boy, and with him he brought a passion for horses and racing which three and a half centuries later remains the life and soul of the town which has such famous residents as Sir Michael Stoute, Luca Cumano, Frankie Dettori and many others.
The original property squares will be replaced by 22 Newmarket training establishments, some of which date back to the 1880’s. These yard are the town’s most famous and historic stables that were occupied by trainers in 2015 and have been placed in order of the 2015 Trainer’s Championship rankings.
