DUBAI World Cup runner-up Mubtaahij, who was transferred from Mike de Kock to US-based Kiaran McLaughlin after the 2016 Dubai Carnival earlier this year, is in top shape and the American trainer is seeking a Gr1 win for him.
McLaughlin told Dubai Racing’s Laura King this week: “He took a bit of time to settle in but he’s doing very well now. He ran a very good race in the Suburban Handicap recently and we’ve nominated him for the Gr1 Pacific Classic (20 August, 2000m) at Del Mar and the Gr1 Woodward over 1800m at Saratoga on 3 September.
He said: “We’d like to find another race or two for Mubtaahij before he goes back to Mike de Kock in Dubai.”
