Both the Triple Crown and Triple Tiara can still be won after Malmoos scored a perhaps more comfortable than expected win in the WSB SA Classic at Turffontein.

The supremely athletic son of Captain Al travelled a few lengths off the pace set by Shah Akbar. But he was always travelling smooth as silk, and never looked like losing after Luke Ferraris asked for an effort 300m out.

Second Base did gamely throw down a challenge, but Malmoos pulled out plenty extra late on to score by two lengths.

The 2450m of the SA Derby should be right up his alley, and he looks set to take a power of beating there.

Catch TwentyTwo came under pressure early on, but did find his feet late, narrowly failing to get to Second Base in the closing strides.
