IBO Cruiserweight Champion of the World Kevin Lerena will be attending the race meeting at Turffontein on Saturday for the debut of Kevin KO Kid, owned in partnership with Green Street Bloodstock Syndicate members.
Lerena, the cousin of jockeys Gavin and Brandon Lerena, is a keen racing fan who has been looking forward to seeing this young horse on the racetrack.
Kevin KO Kid, originally named Royal Silvano, is a smart-looking three-year-old son of Bold Silvano, trained by Gavin van Zyl and to be ridden by Keagan De Melo.
Justin Vermaak of GSB said: “Kevin KO Kid has shown some promising work and he’ll have a chance today, but I don’t think we can beat Geoff Woodruff’s first timer. We’ll be in the fight-out for the money.”
The race is off at 12.30.
