RACE 1: 8 UMZINDUZI 5 CONCHITA 12 IT MUST BE LOVE 7 TOSTADA
Preview: UMZINDUZI (8) was a beaten favourite last start but went down narrowly from a wide draw. Better draw here and should go well again. CONCHITA (5) was just over a length behind in that same race and started at long odds. She is sure to improve on that showing. IT MUST BE LOVE (12) has the worst of the draw but has gone close in both starts to date. The stable is in good form. TOSTADA (7) needed her last run when making her local debut. She had shown some promise in the Cape. (Andrew Harrison: 8-5-12-7).
RACE 2: 3 COLOUR OF LIGHT 6 ARIANOS SPINNER 5 YAAS 4 HEY DELILAH
Preview: COLOUR OF LIGHT (3) is long overdue and is over her best course and distance. She should be right there again. ARIANOS SPINNER (6) has improved with each recent start. She was close-up last runover course and distance in stronger company and must have a strong winning chance. YAAS (5) has been up against stronger at recent starts. She goes well over course and distance. HEY DELILAH (4) attracted strong market support last run and did show some improvement. She gets a stronger rider aboard. (Andrew Harrison: 3-6-5-4).
RACE 3: 4 RACEY STACEY 10 FLYMEFREE 8 MAXINE DU MONDE 9 GLOBAL APPEAL
Preview: RACEY STACEY (4) made big improvement went sent over ground at her second start. She looks progressive. FLYMEFREE (10) steps up to a more suitable trip. She has a wide draw but is set to improve. MAXINE DU MONDE (8) was much improved last run when switching to the poly. Stable is in form. GLOBAL APPEAL (9) was a touch disappointing last run after making a promising debut. She can do better here. (Andrew Harrison: 4-10-8-9).
RACE 4: 3 DANCING FEATHER 2 PURPLE PERSUASION 1 ELECTRIC SURGE 4 RILLE
Preview: Open race. DANCING FEATHER (3) is always threatening and showed up well in a recent sprint. She should be more effective over this trip. PURPLE PERSUASION (2) was a narrow winner last start but that form has been franked. She is not well in at these weights but this is her third run after a break. ELECTRIC SURGE (1) goes well on the poly and is re-united with Anton Marcus. RILLE (4) has been consistent of late and goes well over course and distance. (Andrew Harrison: 3-2-1-4).
RACE 5: 5 CALIENTE 8 WILLIAMS LAND 7 AFRICAN SUNRISE 6 BORN TO PERFORM
Preview: CALIENTE (5) is something of a poly specialist, his last two wins coming on this surface. He got a one-point rise for his last win and can go in again. WILLIAMS LAND (8) is drawn widest but it is a small field. Judged on jockey allocations he looks the pick of the Kannemeyer trio. He was finishing off nicely over 1400m last run and the extra furlong should suit. AFRICAN SUNRISE (7) hardly raised a gallop when tried in blinkers. He is way better than that last effort and may be worth one more chance with the blinkers removed. BORN TO PERFORM (6) was another that hardly raised a gallop last outing but he gets first time blinkers which could see him find his best. (Andrew Harrison: 5-8-7-6).
RACE 6: 1 VALIENTE 7 COLDHARDCASH 4 HOPSKIPANDJUMP 8 DI MAZZIO 2 ZIVA LA WINTER
Preview: VALIENTE (1) jumps in class but has the best of the draw and only 49.5kg on his back. He should make a bold showing. COLDHARDCASH (7) is back over his favourite course and distance. His last run on the turf from a wide draw is best ignored. HOPSKIPANDJUMP (4) is still going up the ratings. He is way better than his last effort with regular pilot aboard. DI MAZZIO (8) is always game and is also back over his best course and distance with Marcus up. ZIVA LA WINTER (2) was a recent easy maiden winner. He looks useful and although jumping in class he can finish in the money. (Andrew Harrison: 1-7-4-8).
RACE 7: 7 VELVET SEASON 6 TRACK ATTACK 3 ARROW’S MARK 11 GENTLEMAN’S WAGER
Preview: Open. VELVET SEASON (7) is battling for his second win but is never far back. He goes very well over course and distance and at best will go close again. TRACK ATTACK (6) also goes well over course and distance and has been consistent. He has a handy weight and should be right there. ARROW’S MARK (3) has been in good form and his last win was over course and distance. GENTLEMAN’S WAGER (11) has put in three smart recent efforts on the poly and was a close-up second last start. He must rate a strong chance. (Andrew Harrison: 7-6-3-11).
RACE 8: 7 PREDATOR 5 GLACIER RUSH 10 WHATEVERITTAKES 6 TILMEETH
Preview: PREDATOR (7) was narrowly beaten at his last two and a repeat should see him hard to beat in this line-up. GLACIER RUSH (5) is lightly raced and has had the worst of the draw at his last two. He can still improve a length or two and looks a likely danger. TILMEETH (6) has been a touch disappointing but has shown some recent improvement and was not far back over course and distance last time out. WHATEVERITTAKES (10) has shown up well from bad draws at his last two. He has drawn wide again but goes an extra 300m which could suit. (Andrew Harrison: 7-5-10-6).
