Varsfontein Stud’s bang inform stallion Gimmethegreenlight came up with an eye catching debut winner at Fairview on Friday when his daughter Miss Nibbles made a winning debut.

The Cheveley Stud bred filly was always up with the pace in Friday’s maiden juvenile plate for fillies over 1000m, and when jockey Marco Van Rensburg asked the question, Miss Nibbles quickened up smartly.

Trained by Gavin Smith, Miss Nibbles pulled clear in Friday’s race to win going away by a length and three quarters.

Out of the Argonaut mare Jade Vine, Miss Nibbles was a R100 000 buy from the 2020 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

She is Gimmethegreenlight’s second two-year-old winner this season thus far, with the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winning son of More Than Ready also responsible for the smart filly Super Siri.

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2015-2016, Gimmethegreenlight is well represented in various Gauteng feature races this weekend. His G3 Fillies Mile winning daughter Gee For Go runs in Saturday’s G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas and his once beaten son Second Base looks a big runner in the same day’s G2 WSB Gauteng Guineas.

The sire of 60 black type horses thus far, Gimmethegreenlight has three lots on the Cape Yearling Sale, and 13 yearlings on offer at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
