The other two teams are the Kwazulu Royals and the Cape Stingers.
How it works:
Each event will have two of the three teams go head-to-head, in 8 races over two and a half hours, with eight horses and jockeys in each event.
Four runners per team in each race.
Each runner is allocated points based on their finishing position.
Points are accumulated throughout the event and the team with the most points at the end wins.
Jockeys will NOT ride in owners colors but will wear teams colors.
Each team comprises 10 Jockeys.
The final selection of participating jockeys will be random in order to ensure fair and equal opportunity to all riders.
The decision of the selection committee will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The use of crops will be strictly as in work rider races; IE: the crop to be used for safety only, to be held in the backhand position and always with a hand on the rein.
All Jockeys will ride with a GPS tracking unit (weight 90 grams).
The unit will be housed in a bespoke vest and positioned on the jockeys back between the shoulders.
