“OH, blimey!” exclaimed Camilla, the 69-year-old Duchess Of Cornwall, when she stepped into the great Frankel’s stable last Thursday and his hair allegedly stood at end.

Not serious. Frankel, the nine-year-old wonder horse, was halfway through a nap when the Duchess came to visit him at Banstead Manor Stud, Newmarket. He’s gotten used to all the attention and soon was his relaxed and accommodating self again.

On a drab and drizzly day, Camilla later arrived at Newmarket Academy, Suffolk. She hid from the rain under a large clear umbrella and was all smiles as she arrived for a tour of the school.

The Duchess, who is an honorary member of The Jockey Club was at the school to learn about its involvement with the local racing community, and joined pupils in the kitchen to help decorate Easter cup cakes.

Camilla also received a special edition of the board game Monopoly from Amy Starkey, Regional Director East for the Jockey Club at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse.

Her husband, Prince Charles, is a huge fan of Monopoly. He said, “Jolly Good, Righty-Oh!” and urged Camilla to rush home.
