KLAWERVLEI’s four yearlings sired by Frankel are the talk of the town ahead of this weekend’s 2017 CTS Cape Premier Yearling Sale at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town.
The Frankels – a colt and three fillies – are members of Klawervlei’s 58-strong consignment to the sale, that starts after races on Saturday evening.
Stud manager John Koster spoke with pride and praise of the Frankel offspring on Monday morning and noted on the respective, unnamed individuals:
“Our first Frankel lot up is Lot 27, a bay filly from Daffodil (IRE), by Fastnet Rock. This is Daffodil’s first foal, a high quality filly with a bold eye and a great shoulder.
“Next up will be the colt, Lot 64. He is the first foal of Holy Roman Emperor’s Listed-placed filly, Fly to the Moon. He’s a strong, medium-sized bay with plenty of depth and balance, he’s well shaped and he’s a good walker too. (Headline photo is of Lot 64)
Lot 114 is a filly produced from the Fastnet Rock mare, Little Fastnet. Koster likes the way she walks and says she has a “fantastic motion”. He added: “This one is all quality, well balanced with huge quarters.”
The last on offer, Lot 198 will come up early on Sunday evening and Koster told: “She has reign, good depth and nice quarters and looks a well-balanced, top quality filly. She’s from the Galileo (Frankel) and Green Desert mare cross which has produced the likes of Australia, Was and Havana Gold.”
