ALLANBloodlines has announced a new fee structure for ELUSIVE FORT (Fort Wood – Ever Seeking) and a change of location, but still in Robertson.
Elusive Fort – now a Triple Grade 1 winning sire of three Grade 1 winners – has put the icing on the cake of a blistering restart of racing. Amongst half a dozen winners in the first week or so, OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE won the SA Derby bravely and in style soon followed by a juvenile colt, KOMMETDIEDING, taking the Klawervlei Farm Sale race in a manner suggesting substantial victories to come for both of them all going well.
A factor highlighted by those two results is his versatility. With the genes of Sadler’s Wells, Fort Wood including Fall Aspen and the magnificent “E” family of Empress Club, Epoque and the rest, there is no question that Elusive Fort is one of those rare stallions of quality who provides both speed and stamina, producing winners at sprinting distances, classic distances and everything in between. 72% of this established stallion’s winners have been at 1600 metres or less, leaving plenty to compete over Classic trips.
Elusive Fort’s fee is being halved to R10,000 + VAT Live Foal with the option of PAY WHEN YOU SELL at R12,500 + VAT.
In part, this is for him to be a “Good Citizen” available on terms that react to current conditions facing breeders, and at the same time we hope to attract more good mares to follow his years of Full and nearly full books which are putting more and more runners onto the tracks from now.
The stallion can be booked at even lower fees through a now-familiar AllanStallions Scale of Fees for bookings of two to six mares. Four mares, for example, would be charged at R7,500 + vat LF (or R9,375 + vat PWYS).
“Having stood for half a dozen years at Klipdrif Stud with whom we have always had a good working relationship, it now makes sense for Elusive Fort to move to the other side of Robertson to Black Swan Stud, the property of Peter de Beyer, successful breeder as well as being the Syndicate Principal,” wrote AllanBloodlines.
“Located adjacent to Ridgemont-Highlands, the farm is managed by Walter Cowe, for many years Stud Manager in Newmarket for Sir Philip Oppenheimer and his successor son. Walter was also the “go to” teacher of yearling prep for the prestigious The National Stud courses until he and his wife Fran fulfilled their long-held ambition to immigrate to South Africa six years ago.
“Elusive Fort has a brand new stallion box in a suitable paddock near the house and the whole team is welcoming him with open arms.”
