FOUR-year-old gelding Dispicable made his 1200m debut at Greyville on Sunday in good style, racing home 3.20-lengths clear of Lord Caro, and looking the part under Stuart Randolph.
That he’s made it to the racetrack so late is an obvious indication of niggles along the line and trainer Tony Rivalland confirmed: “Dispicable is a horse with lots of issues and we actually don’t know where they are, muscles, high up, low down. He’s had foot and fetlock problems too, he’s just a sof horse.
“He’s beautiful, big horse, thanks to Mary Liley for her patience. He’s a proper horse too, he’s very good and if we can keep him going he can have a career. You never know.
Randolph agreed, saying: “He’s one of the better ones I’ve sat on a while.”
Dispicable is by VAR from a mare by Jet Master, and was bred at Maine Chance.
