Hollie Doyle rode a brilliant 2,521-1 five-timer at Kempton on Wednesday night.

She completed the achievement when powering home late aboard 8-1 chance Madrinho in the Unibet-sponsored 6f handicap. It was her third win on the night for trainer Tony Carroll who also trained winners Della Mare and 14-1 shot Sir Titan.

Doyle also took the night’s featuring ‘Road To The Kentucky Derby’ Conditions Stakes on Godolphin’s Highland Avenue with Laos her other winner.

She almost made it six when travelling strongly on the Alan King-trained Chinese Whisperer in the finale, but the four-year-old was caught out by fast-finishing rivals, eventually resulting in a fourth-place finish behind winner Merweb.

Doyle said after Madrinho’s win: “It’s great as these things don’t happen very often so you have got to make the most of them.

“I seem to do quite well here but I’ve had some good rides here today. Charlie Appleby’s horse [Higland Avenue] has got a lot of potential and I thought if I get beat on that I’ll give up!

“I thought Archie’s [Watson’s horse, Laos] should go close and to be honest when I spoke to Tony [Carroll] he filled me full of confidence with all three of his rides. You just need a bit of luck and I have had that. My agent has done me a good job in getting a good book of rides.

“I’m never satisfied with what I’ve done and I always want to achieve more and when you get on these sort of runs you always want to do better.”

Doyle enjoyed a stellar season in 2020 which included a first winner at Royal Ascot, a five-timer at Windsor in August and a memorable Qipco British Champions Day double, headlined by a top-level breakthrough with Glen Shiel.

Her achievements were recognised when she was third in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award and she was named Flat jockey of the year at the Lesters.

She has already continued her success into 2021 when last month riding True Self to victory in the illustrious Neom Turf Cup in Saudi Arabia.

After this evening’s heroics, Sky Bet cut Doyle to 15-2 (from 9-1) to be named champion jockey in 2021. She has now ridden 27 winners this year.
