Cape Thoroughbred Sales (CTS) will be expanding on the 2021 renewal of the ever-growing and popular Farm Sale concept, for which entries are due shortly. In conjunction with Gavel House, the Klawervlei Farm Sale yielded a remarkable R8,4-million in turnover in just a few hours of internet bidding, when conducted online for the first time in June 2020.

Klawervlei’s John Koster said: “After discussing the devastating effect of lockdown due to Covid 19 on our breeding industry, we felt it pertinent to open up the sale to all breeders. This was very well met, and many of our colleagues have requested participation again in 2021. With Klawervlei’s lesser numbers and our much smaller management team, the sale necessitates the marketing and sales expertise that vendors require to sell their yearlings successfully. To this end, it made sense to partner with CTS and use their innovative style to grow the sale in the Cape in June.”

Grant Knowles, Bloodstock and Marketing Director of CTS, commented: “We look forward to partnering with Klawervlei, along with their fellow breeders, for the 2021 Farm Sale. We will look to maintain the unique Farm Sale experience, while delivering new and exciting initiatives to the event, ensuring further growth and success.”
