CANDICE Bass-Robinson, who had won two Listed races at Kenilworth and a Gr2 at Greyville last weekend, continued her countrywide winning spree with a victory by Dorset Noble in the Listed World Sports Betting East Cape Derby over 2400m at Fairview on Saturday.

A chance ride for Craig Zackey, who had replaced Aldo Domeyer, the Australian-bred Dorset Noble stayed on solidly and looked all class as he strode away to a 4.25-length win over Gavin Smith’s local pair, Story Of My Life and Oh Gee Em.

Owner Marsh Shirtliff, involved in all last week’s winning partnerships, resumed his own series of feature wins, his name on the trophy here along with Bernard Kantor, who just last Thursday signed a five-year extension for Investec to sponsor the Epsom Derby.

Dorset Noble was a $60 000 purchase by Worldwide Bloodstock at the 2015 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. Bred by Austramore, he is by five time Gr1 winner and Canford Cliffs from a mare by Generous.
