FORMER star jockey and five-times SA Amateur Boxing Champion Benny Little (84), famous for his collection of smart suits and hats; also for winning many Gr1 races for the Oppenheimer family including the 1959 Durban July on Tiger Fish, is not in the best of health and suffering some financial difficulties.

A White-Collar Box-and-Dine Evening to Littleā€™s benefit will be held at Turffontein on Friday 12 October, starting at 19:30. Tables of ten are available at R5,000 (or R500 per person), which will include a buffet meal. The event will be attended by former racing and boxing greats.

Organiser Manny Fernandez said: “We’ve sold five tables so far and of course we’d like to get more support, it will be a good evening at a very reasonable price to support a legend.” Phone Manny on 082.956.6888 for more info.
