AIDAN O’Brien’s charge Bondi Beach, who takes a yawn in this photo by Colleen Petch, has settled down in Melbourne ahead of the Emirates Melbourne Cup over 3200m at Flemington next week.
The son of Galileo is owned in partnership with Lloyd Williams who has won the Cup on four occasions. He finished 16th in last year’s renewal, and arrived in Australia last week for another crack at the big one.
‘Team Williams’ could run four runners next week with Almandin, Gallante and Assign joining Bondi Beach in the ‘race that stops a nation‘ and part-owner Nick Williams is happy with their team.
Williams said: “Bondi Beach is in great order, we are very happy with him.”
