BETTING WORLD has re-opened their betting on the R5-million Sun Met (28 January, Kenilworth), after briefly suspending it on Saturday evening following the running of the Graded features on L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate day.

As expected, the most significant adjustment was on Gr2 Peninsula Handicap winner Whisky Baron (photo), whose odds have been trimmed to 75/20 (from 8-1). He has replaced Bela-Bela as third favourite, though the grey mare herself has come into 6s from 15-2.

At the top of the boards, champion Legal Eagle is on offer at 15-10 (from 22-10), after his facile win in the Queen’s Plate. You can get 33-10 on Marinaresco, soundly beaten on Saturday but expected to be a tougher rival over 2000m.

Here is the latest betting:

15-10 (22-10) Legal Eagle
33-10 (7-2, 4-1) Marinaresco
75/20 (4-1, 8-1, 20-1) Whisky Baron
