Undefeated Equus Champion juvenile filly Anything Goes will attract a lot of attention today as she returns to the track after a three month break.

Stuart Pettigrew’s daughter of Var lines up in the Gr3 Three Troikas for three-year-old fillies over 1400m, but will have her work cut out to keep her unblemished record.

Regular sparring partner War Of Athena looks set to give some real cheek receiving a kilo, and has race fitness on her side after defeating older Gr1 winner Queen Supreme comfortably in the Ipi Tombe a month ago.

It should be a fascinating duel.

Old rivals also renew acquaintance in the colts equivalent Tony Ruffel. This time it’s Paul Peter stablemates Catch Twentytwo and MK’s Pride. The former was an easy winner of the Dingaans, but the drop to 1400m may well suit MK’s Pride, and you can expect things to be a lot tighter this time.

Sean Tarry’s Flying Carpet is another to include if looking further afield.

The London News is the other Gr3 on the day, and is always run in the first few days of the year. Here WSB Summer Cup runner up Running Brave could take some catching. With her fillies allowance she has a handy 56,5kg, and will prove difficult to peg back.

It could be a good day for Muzi Yeni, he also rides War Of Athena.
