KLAWERVLEI Stud’s exciting sire Twice Over (photo) has made an exceptional start to his stud career and the four time G1 winner and European champion was represented by yet another eye catching debut winner at Turffontein on Thursday.

The Paul Peter trained Virginia Moon, backed down to start a 2-1 favourite, produced a late burst of speed to win a good race first time out over 1450m for owners the Hyperpaint Syndicate on Thursday.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Virginia Moon joins the likes of unbeaten G1 Gold Medallion winner Sand And Sea, and the unbeaten Do It Again and as impressive winners to have emerged from Twice Over’s first crop of runners.

One of the best horses ever to retire to stud in South Africa, Twice Over raced sound from two to seven and earned in excess of £2.4 million in prize money. 
The Mr Prospector line sire won or placed in 24 races, with his victories including back to back wins in the G1 Champion Stakes, the G1 Coral-Eclipse and G1 Juddmonte International.
