Race 1

Preview: DANCING ARABIAN (1) showed good gatespeed and pace last time over 1200m at the Vaal and although beaten 2,90 lengths by Showdown Kid over 1000m in November she comes out ahead of the latter on a 1200m formline through a horse called Signed And Sealed so over this quick 1160m there should not be much in it. ROSE WILLOW (15) has run two fair races over 1200m and could still improve. SHOWDOWN KID (4) has a lot of pace but tends to stop late, even over 1000m, so although she will be suited to this quick 1160m she will be vulnerable late in the race.  KAROO SPACE (12) was finishing strongly when beaten two lengths by Showdown Kid over 1000m last time and she now has Yeni up over a slight step up in trip she will appreciate being by the sprint-miler Kildonan out of a Greys In mare who won over 1200m on debut and who is a full-sister to Chekilli, who was runner up in the Grade 2 Hawaii Stakes over 1400m and placed in the Grade 3 Tony Ruffel over 1400m and the GRade 2 Senor Santa Hamdicap over 1160m. PRINCESS SABRINA (14) was four lengths behind Dancing Arabian over 1200m last time but was green and has scope for improvement. SARSAPILLA (16) is by Vercingetorix and is a full-sister to Mabella who beat an uninspiring field by 4,50 lengths over 1200m on debut in October 2019. SIGNED AND SEALED (6) was beaten 4.50 lengths by Dancing Arabian over 1200m at the Vaal recently and was 0,50 lengths behind Princess Sabrina but back in September she was two lengths ahead of Showdown Kid over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside track. BOLD DECISION (7) is by Dynasty out of seven-time winning Tamburlaine mare from 1450m to 1800m Lucky Hand who has produced one one-time winner by Pathfork from one runner. Race 2

Preview: CELESTIAL LOVE (16) was 8,25 lengths behind Winter Smoke on debut last June and narrowly beat Ghee For Go, who has gone on to win the Grade 3 Fillies Mile, but she hasn’t run since finishing second in a strong Greyville poly race in July. ESKIMO PIE (8) ran third over 1200m last time and the form has been franked. IMITATION GAME (9) was just touched off last time over 1000m and has scope for improvement. APACHE TRAIL (5) is a nice looking type who can improve on his debut effort when losing ground at the start in a strong maiden. SONNY QUINN (1) is knocking on the door and was a long-head behind Imitation Game last time out.  UNPREDICTABLE (15) was making good late progress in that race after being slow away and green. SUITED CONNECTOR (14) showed pace on debut on Saturday before fading late and could surprise if coming on from that run considering he is by Coup De Grace and a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Seventh Plain. INHERIT THE RAIN (10) will apprecite the step down in trip and could earn. MAGIC NUMBER (12) is by Gimmethegreenlight out of a four-time winning NZ-bred O’Reilly mare (1400m to 1600m) who won her first two starts. LEGERDEMAIN (11) is by Willow Magic and is a half-bother to the twice winner from 1600m to 1700m Throng (Visionaire). RAINY SEASON (13) is by Soft Falling Rain out of a Spend A Buck mare who has produced three winners including seven-time winner Photocopy. (David Thiselton  16-8-9-5-1-15-14-10-12-11-13)

Race 3

Preview: EURO CENT (5) pulled early last time from a tricky draw but still managed fourth in quite a strong maiden and if settling here from a better draw he will be hard to beat. JOE HARMAN (10 )is by Master Of My Fate out of a four-time winning Hussonet winner who is a half-sister to a Grade 1 winner by Animal Kingdom in the USA. MYNAGE (12) has often been placed as a maiden and should earn here from pole position. USHUAIA (11) is by Pomodoro out of an Al Mufti winner who is the daughter of a Grade 3-winning Red Ryder mare. RICCARDO (7) could earn if producing his best. (David Thiselton 5-10-12-11-7)

Race 4

Preview: SAY WHEN (11) made a good debut against a promising sort and from pole position over a step up in trip she will relish on pedigree she is the one to beat. SUGAR COATED SMILE (12) showed a good turn of foot when running on from a long way back for second over 1600m last time and has a fair draw. ARYAAM (5) was still green when second over 1400m last time and has a good draw too.  CHLORIS (6) made a fair debut when beaten 2,50 lengths by Say When and should also relish the step up in trip so can be involvd from a good draw. PRINCESS THIANA (10) is by Greys Inn and is a full-sister to Legal Eagle. (David Thiselton 11-12-5-6-10)

Race 5

Preview: MAGICAL FLIGHT (2) finished a close up third over this trip at Greyville in August and ran a good recent sprint over 1160m so looks the one to beat from a good draw in an uninspiring field. KEEPINGTHEPEACE (3) was disappointing in her comeback over 2000m when not making up much ground from near the back but reverting to 1600m might help her find the juvenile form against good horses which will make her a runner here. FORT SNOW (4) is capable of earning here from a fair draw. MAUBY (11) has shown enough to be able to earn here although she has a tricky draw. INTERCITY (9) ran on quite well on debut in a similar strength race on Saturday over this trip and with improvement can earn from a good draw. (David Thiselton 2-3-4-11-9)

Race 6

Preview:   MANTERIO (5) ran a good second last time over 1450m from a good draw and should relish the step up in trip so is the one to beat from a good draw. SUPREME ELEVATION (6), who beat Manterio narrowly over 1450m despite a wide draw in his penultimate start, has a good draw and a fair opportunity to get off the mark in his eleventh start over a suitable trip. HUKUM (10) has a good draw and can improve on his debut when making up some ground from last. MOON JUMPER (11) made a fair debut over 1160m in a strong form race and should relish the step up in trip on pedigree and has Yeni up from a fair draw of seven. TRACK COMMANDER (12) can improve with this step up in trip.  MCBISI (7) beat Moon Jumper in that race and is improving. (David Thiselton 5-6-10-11-12-7)

Race 7

Preview: EARL (13) made eyecatching late progress over 1400m last time out and being by Duke Of Marmalade out of a Fort Wood mare who won over 1200m he is interesting stepped up to this trip, although he has a tough draw. BOLD RESOLVE (9) is well drawn and on pedigree should stay the trip being a Master Of My Fate half-brother to Keep Smiling who has placed over this trip. BALL ROLLING (5) was runner up over this trip last time and way clear of the rest although that was in a maiden handicap so this will be tougher. GREAT ESTEEM (1) could earn here if able to produce his best just five days after making his comeback over the too sharp 1400m. MISTER BLUE SKY (14) should have come on from his first two runs and should enjoy this trip. SMOKEY FIRE (15) could improve and is well drawn. FORT ALADO (2) could earn again over this trip. FAST DRAW (3) is well drawn wit Strydom up and stays this trip. (David Thiselton  13-9-5-1-14-15-2-3)

Race 8

Preview: SUPER DUPER (1) is knocking on the door and should go close over a suitable trip from a good draw. WATCHING CLOSELY (9) is improving and should be involved in the finish although she has a tricky draw. ICED TEA (12) improved over this trip last time and is well drawn. IMMACULATE (16) has run two fair races including placing over this trip last time and has a fair draw, although she has to make up 2,25 lengths on Iced Tea. SOPHIA’S FIRST (8) is drawn in pole and being by Noble Tune is interesting stepped up in trip straight away, although her dam is a LIsted placed sprinter by Doowaley. (David Thiselton 1-9-12-16-8)
